There is no greater sorrow for a soldier than to die for the wrong or the mocked reason. Our hate and frustration has consumed us to the point where we are unable to feel compassion for people who are dying in a war that slaughtered our consciences before it slaughtered our men. Men, young and old, dedicating their lives – not to fight for Islam, for both sides claim that name, not to fight for the country, for every drop of blood is our own, no one knows who is fighting who, but for the simple reason of security – to keep us safe within our false and meaningless dreams of independence, peace and of deserving better. What we have in return, is a critical analysis of the military budget and the outrageous benefits to military families.
